The goal of the project was to design 4 type-centric badges for different cities. I chose cities in the Texas Hill Country around where I grew up. The "Boerne" badge features a retro typeface with a faded background, both calls to the city's heritage, as well as several duck graphics, symbolic of the iconic main street ducks. The "New Braunfels" badge emphasizes the city's strong German heritage, with clear references to the Oktoberfest festival. For "Gruene", I used a playful cursive typeface as a subtle nod to the the city's main attraction Gruene Hall, who's sign and logo features a lighter cursive font. The "Fredericksburg" badge is supposed to emulate a sign for a farm stand, as Fredericksburg is known for their peach farms, as is also shown in the simple peach graphics.
